SMS Terms of Service — Real Record

These SMS Terms of Service apply to text message communications sent by Real Record, operated by Real Housing Reform Initiative, a Washington State 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 39-4829821), to subscribers who have opted in to receive SMS messages.

1. Program Description

Real Record sends SMS messages to subscribers who have opted in to receive mobile alerts related to:

• New meeting briefings published for Bellingham City Council, Whatcom County Council, and other covered jurisdictions
• Comprehensive plan updates, UGA boundary decisions, and housing policy developments in Washington State
• New investigations, data releases, and reports published at realrecord.org
• Time-sensitive civic alerts related to upcoming public meetings or votes

2. How to Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from Real Record by submitting your phone number and providing explicit SMS consent via a signup form at realrecord.org, or by texting START to our designated SMS number. By opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Real Record at the phone number you provided.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. You may receive up to 4–8 messages per month depending on meeting schedules and publication activity.

4. How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. For help, reply HELP or contact info@realrecord.org.

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Real Record does not charge a fee for SMS messages.

6. Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Supported Carriers

Available on most major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others.

8. Privacy

Your mobile number and SMS consent data will not be shared with third parties, affiliates, or non-affiliates for their own marketing purposes. All SMS opt-in data and consent information is excluded from any data-sharing arrangements. This information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services necessary to deliver your messages.
